Lion Rock Minerals Limited (ASX: LRM) has released first-pass mineralogy from the Minta Monazite & Rutile Project in central Cameroon (Figure 1), outlining broad zones of high-grade natural rutile from surface and near-surface. Results include up to 2.2% in-situ rutile and rutile making up to 71% of the heavy-mineral assemblage. With reconnaissance complete over a >5,000 km² target area and results received across ~3,800 km²

Rutile has long stood in the shadows, overshadowed by better-known commodities like lithium, copper, and even its cousin, ilmenite. But beneath the surface, quite literally, lies a mineral that is becoming increasingly vital to the world’s industrial, technological, and geopolitical landscape.
