Western Yilgarn (ASX WYX), Research and Coverage
Western Yilgarn NL (ASX: WYX), formerly Pacific Bauxite NL. Western Yilgarn is a mineral exploration company in Western Australia. It does not mine and does not sell anything, so the money it spends comes from shareholders rather than from sales. It looks for two things: bauxite and gallium in the Darling Range near Perth, and gold in the Gascoyne region further north. Bauxite is the ore from which aluminium is made. It is refined into alumina, a white powder, which is then smelted into aluminium metal. Gallium is a soft metal recovered as a by-product of alumina refining, used in semiconductors, radar and light-emitting diodes. The company is early stage. It holds four mineral resources, all in the lowest confidence category, and it has no ore reserve and has published no scoping study, pre-feasibility study or feasibility study on anything.
